During the third quarter of 2024, the total import volume of footwear in Russia was 96.1 million pairs, a drop of 9.7% compared to the same period of 2023. The total imports of footwear for the first nine months of 2024 reached 261.6 million pairs, a decline of 11.2%. Significant decreases were seen in the import volume of boots, which fell by 41.6%, while sales of sports shoes increased by 19.9%. Experts predict that due to declining demand, footwear import procurement in 2025 is expected to decrease by another 10%. Despite imported footwear holding a 65.6% share of the market, the sales of domestic footwear are growing rapidly. From July to September, the total volume of the Russian footwear market decreased by 2.9%, yet domestic footwear production increased by 13.6% year-on-year. According to Ozon's data, from January to September, sales of domestic footwear increased 2.2-fold, while the increase in sales of imported footwear was 1.5-fold. In terms of sales, the physical share of foreign footwear decreased by 5%, and the value share decreased by 6%. Wildberries' report shows that the sales share of Russian footwear is 1.2%, and the share of imported footwear is 1.5%.
