Pakistan issues a final anti-dumping ruling on Chinese paint brush filaments
On September 3, 2024, the State Tariff Commission of Pakistan issued the latest announcement in Case No. ADC63, which imposed a charge on paint brush filaments originating in or imported from China Paint Brush Filaments made a positive final anti-dumping ruling, ruling that the product involved was dumping, and that the dumping constituted a substantial obstacle to the establishment of Pakistan's domestic industry. Therefore, it decided to impose an anti-dumping duty of 34.15% on the product involved. The measure will take effect from June 13, 2024 and will be valid for five years. The measures do not include paint brush filaments used only as raw materials for Pakistan's export products and paint brush filaments needed for foreign donor assistance projects and other duty-exempt projects. This case involves products under Pakistan tax codes 5404.1900, 5404.9000 and 5406.0000. On January 19, 2024, the National Tariff Commission of Pakistan launched an anti-dumping investigation against paint brush filaments originating in or imported from China. On June 13, 2024, Pakistan made a positive preliminary ruling on the case and initially decided to impose a temporary anti-dumping duty of 34.48%.
