Shaanxi Coal Industry Korla natural-gas-based chemical new material project approved
 Recently, the environmental assessment of the new chemical materials project from natural gas in Korla, Xinjiang Co., Ltd., Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group, was approved by the Department of Ecological Environment of Xinjiang Autonomous region.

Project address: Bazhou Korla Petroleum and Petrochemical Industry Park, Korla City, Bayingol Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous region,

 

Area: covering 112.27 hectares.

Total investment: 11.019 billion yuan.

 

Construction unit: Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Xinjiang Co., Ltd.

Construction content:
The project uses natural gas as the main raw material to produce BDO and its downstream PTMEG, PBAT, NMP and other new chemical materials.


The main production plant includes 2 sets of 50kt/year natural-gas-based acetylene plant, 1 set of 300kt/year methanol and hydrogen production, 3 sets of 240kt/year a formaldehyde plants, 3 sets of 104kt/year BDO plants, 4 sets of 46kt/year PTMEG units, 2 sets of 60kt/year PBAT units and 1 set of 30kt/year GBL-NMP plant, with 16 sets of production units totally. At the same time, public auxiliary facilities such as desalination water station, circulating water plant, sewage treatment plant, air separation air pressure station, substation, centralized incinerator and torch system, as well as storage and transportation facilities will be constructed.

 

Project process:

The acetylene plant adopts the process of partial oxidation of natural gas to acetylene, the flexibility of operation of the plant is 60-120%, and the annual operating hours are calculated as 8000 hours.

The methanol and hydrogen production plant adopts the proprietary technology of Chengda Company-the new methanol production process from natural gas acetylene tail gas and the patented methanol synthesis tower technology. The processing raw material is mainly acetylene tail gas produced by acetylene plant.

The formaldehyde plant uses a complete set of DBW methanol to formaldehyde technology in the United States, and the raw materials are methanol and methanol produced by hydrogen production plant.

BDO is going to use INVISTA technology to synthesize butynediol catalyzed by acetylene formaldehyde, and BDO product is obtained by two-stage catalytic hydrogenation.

 

PTMEG plant is going to use INVISTA technology. PTMEG will be produced through methanol and BDO.

The PBAT plant is proposed to adopt domestic technology to produce PBAT through BDO, PTA and AA. The operation flexibility of the device is 60-120%, and the annual operating hours are calculated according to 8000 hours.

 

The GBL-NMP plant adopts the technology route of dehydrogenation + GBL and monomethylamine synthesis using BDO as raw material, and adopts GBL+NMP technology with domestic independent intellectual property rights.
