Disperse dye black drops but dyeing mills afraid to receive orders!
It has been three months since the explosion in the Chenjiagang Chemical Park in Xiangshui county. For three months, affected by m-phenylenediamine, disperse dyes boomed up and then showed downward.

After Xiangshui blast, the market value of Longsheng, a leading disperse dyestuff company in Zhejiang, doubled in just half a month, reaching a peak of 82.3 billion on Apr 8. However, the market value of Longsheng evaporated 32.8 billion yuan on Jun 17. In two months, its share price dropped by 42%, and turnover exceeded 260 billion yuan, which led to decline of whole chemical sector. It was expected that at least 100 billion yuan funds caught inside.

1. Disperse dye black dropped to 36,000yuan/mt

Business manager of a dyestuff enterprise in Zhejiang sent a message to a dyeing mill that the latest price of dispersed black ECT 300% was 36yuan/kg several days ago.

Many printing and dyeing enterprises used a strategy of running after rising and falling, and are busy stockpiling up when price adjusted up. They did not grasp dyestuff price information accurately. As a result, many printing and dyeing mills have high-priced dyestuff in their warehouses.

Over the past three months, price of disperse dyes has gone through a boom and then continued to move down. Now the market price is lower than the price before the explosion.

2. Market transition of printing and dyeing enterprises
According to dyeing and finishing encyclopedia, disperse dyes price moved down mainly due to limited operating rate of printing and dyeing mills and sudden fall of dye demand. And influenced by the Sino-US trade war, many printing and dyeing mills were in the market transition.

2.1. A large yarn-dyed listed enterprise

US orders accounted for about 50%, but now the focus was on the development of mainland market, with the goal of controlling US market orders to 30%.

2.2. A large home textile export enterprise
It is still not dare to receive US orders, but machines cannot halt. So it now mainly produce Australia and Europe orders.

3. Impact of production cut in North Jiangsu continues

Although price of conventional disperse dyes moved down, the impact of production cut continued.

The shortage in dyes market led to that many printing and dyeing mills were afraid to receive orders. Prices of some anthraquinones dispersed and reactive dyes were still high or kept rising.

4. Out of the depth of misfortune comes bliss

Volatility of dyestuff price in textile industry has stable law. Eyes are suggested to treat price changes of dyestuff market objectively and rationally, purchase and stock dyestuff according to customers and demand of dyeing mills and not to be blinded by bad hype information.
